Investors have launched a project for the development of the Yantarnaya gambling zone

The Kaliningrad Region has resumed the implementation of a progressive project to modernize the Yantarnaya gambling zone. This information was reported in an interview by the governor of the region Anton Alikhanov.

In addition, he confirmed the previously published information that the local authorities have already drawn up a plan for organizing and holding auctions for the right to lease several plots of land in 2022. It is planned to launch the construction of gambling facilities on them.

According to Anton Alikhanov, not so long ago the management of the zone was able to achieve the signing of an agreement with new investors who are ready to invest a lot of money in the development of the local infrastructure.

“Some companies have already shown their interest in bidding. I would like to note that the price of certain rental plots increased by almost 2000% during the evaluation process. One investor already had experience in implementing such projects, because he was engaged in the construction of the Azov City casino. We plan to implement a tent complex on our territory, it is quite simple to build it. Then the stage of larger-scale construction will begin,” the governor admitted.

The official noted that the budget of the Kaliningrad Region feels a positive effect from the operation of one casino and a slot machine hall on the territory of the Yantarnaya:

“So far, only the SOBRANIE Casino and the Magic Crystal Club are fully functioning here, but they adequately help the local treasury. So, for 11 months of this year, the Ministry of Finance of the region recorded an income of 120 million rubles in the form of taxes from gambling. In addition, the budget is filled with payments for the lease of land — about 35 million rubles for six months. II am sure that these indicators will only increase in the future.”

It should be noted that the active phase of the development of the Yantarnaya gambling zone was supposed to begin in 2021, but due to financial difficulties and the coronavirus pandemic, this project was postponed.

Recall that in 2022, five large land plots are planned to be allocated for casinos in the Yantarnaya gambling zone.
